Kirsten Bigelow scored 16 points, Liana Hartwell added 15, and Valley broke the game open with a 34-7 advantage in the second half to post a 61-22 victory in an interclass girls basketball game Wednesday at Old Orchard Beach.
Liana Hartwell added 15 points and Delia Hill had 12 for Valley (15-1), the No. 1 team in Class S South.
Reagan Partridge led Class D Old Orchard Beach (10-5) with nine points.
MT. ABRAM 46, WINTHROP 25: Stella Peterson and Jenna Osgood led the Roadrunners (13-3) as they raced past the Ramblers (8-7) in Winthrop.
Peterson scored a game-high 17 points and Osgood scored 14.
Kylee Mansir made two 3-pointers and scored six points for Winthrop, while Grace Folsom, Evelyn Mortimer and Kylee Savage each finished with five points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
OAK HILL 64, DIRIGO 47: Braden New scored 30 points, and Oak Hill moved up in the Class C South Heal point standings by defeating Dirigo in Wales.
PJ Smith chipped in with 13 points for the Raiders (8-6), who leapfrogged Dirigo (8-6) into seventh place.
Liam Malchisky scored 16 points and Brady Philbrick tallied 15 for Dirigo.
MADISON 61, WINTHROP 34: Four Madison players finished in double figures as the Bulldogs (11-4) defeated the Ramblers (3-12) in Winthrop.
Jacob Linkletter led the way with 17 points. Brayden Furbush and Davyn Nichols each had 11 and Finn Haynie scored 10.
Graham Huri scored 22 points for Winthrop.
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 63, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 33: Levi Laverdiere scored 22 points, Tyler Day chipped in with 13, and the Mustangs (9-5) rolled to a win over the Falcons (3-12) in Monmouth.
Ridge Duguay led Mountain Valley with 10 points.
WINSLOW 39, MORSE 37: Jack Flaherty drained three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 15 points to lead the Black Raiders (6-9) to a win over the Shipbuilders (5-10) in Winslow.
Carter Calvo chipped in 12 points for Winslow.
Colten Aucoin shot 6 for 6 at the free-throw line and led Morse with 14 points.
VALLEY 71, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 48: Harry Louis, Fisher Tewksbury and Levi Short combined for 65 points, and the Cavaliers (14-2) handled the Seagulls (6-9) in Old Orchard Beach.
Louis finished with 23 points, Tewksbury scored 22 and Short had 20.
OOB was paced by Kenson Maynor with 13 points and Trot Moody with 12.
GIRLS HOCKEY
PENOBSCOT 2, WINSLOW CO-OP 2: Penobscot (7-8-1) scored twice in the first period, and Winslow/Gardiner/Cony/Lawrence/Messalonskee/Maranacook/Erskine (5-10-2) answered with two goals in the second period Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer.
Bella Saucier and Ella Davis staked the Pioneers to a 2-0 lead. Penobscot goalie Abbie Derosier stopped 31 shots.
Madelyn Martin and Josie Kelly scored for the Black Tigers, while Emma Jean made 17 saves.
