Bruce Soucy
WINTHROP – Bruce Soucy, 70, passed away unexpectedly at home on Jan. 20, 2026.
He was born April 26, 1955, the son of George and Leona (Taylor) Soucy. Bruce was a man who believed in hard work, loyalty, and showing up every single day. A true workaholic, Bruce didn’t just go to work—after work, he worked and then worked some more. Taking over his father’s business, he often joked that he’d been on the back of a trash truck since birth, a role he carried with pride and dedication throughout his life.
Bruce was a homebody who enjoyed the simple pleasures, including muscle cars and a good game of solitaire. He was sarcastic, quick-witted, and a natural jokester, always ready with a prank or a comment that kept those around him laughing.
One of Bruce’s greatest joys was the people—and animals—on his route. He truly loved his customers, and they loved him right back. He made sure every dog was remembered, carrying dog biscuits on his route, including special treats for dogs with special diets. He even kept a few cat treats on hand for the cats he befriended along the way. When Bruce retired, he talked about doing a “dog run,” just so he could see all his four-legged friends again.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents; and his son, Bruce Soucy Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria; his daughters Amber Soucy, Anne Bragg, and April Soucy; several cherished granddaughters and grandsons; brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.
Bruce will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sharp sense of humor, his love for his customers, and the countless dogs (and cats) who eagerly waited for his arrival. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and laughter that will not be forgotten.
Per his request there will be no funeral; a small gathering for him in the spring will be announced at a later date.
