AUGUSTA – Hilda Louise Toothaker Brooks died on Jan. 8, 2026 in Augusta, Maine.
She was born in Richmond, the daughter of Clifton and Bessie Toothaker on May 19, 1920. Hilda was a graduate of Richmond High School as well as the Kennebec School of Commerce in Gardiner. She worked many years in the office of Viles Timberland.
On Oct. 10, 1943, Hilda married Donald Brooks Jr. in Newport.
Hilda was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Don; sister, Christine Patrick and brother-in-law, Francis M. Patrick, and her brother, Clifton Toothaker Jr.
She is survived by her niece, Anne Toothaker, and her nephew-in-law, Wendell Skidgel.
Services will be private.
