Paul William Moody
AUGUSTA – Paul William Moody, 60, died Jan. 23, 2026 at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. Paul was born Dec. 10, 1965 in Brunswick and raised by John C. Moody, Jr. and Barbara Calderwood Moody. Paul grew up in Union and attended Union Elementary School and Union Junior High. Paul graduated from Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1984.
Paul worked as an auto technician for Yudy’s in Damariscotta for 27 years, and for Don Foshay’s Tire and Alignment for 11 years. Paul loved being in the outdoors, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling with family and friends.
Paul was adventurous, from hitting every dirt road and trail with his three-wheeler to every waterway in his 14-foot aluminum boat in Knox county.
Paul grew up on snowmobiles. He was the greatest navigator whether he was cruising the Moosehead Lake area or Allagash waterway. He could ride down a road a hundred miles from home, not go on that road for 20 years and then still tell you where it went when you went by it. He was truly the navigator of every single adventure he went on; he had a built-in compass!
Paul was predeceased by his parents.
Paul is survived by his companion, Stephany J. Sherman of Winslow; daughter, Lillian Moody of Warren; mother and stepfather, Anita Mattingly and Joe of Leeds; son, Devin Sherman and his wife Meghan and their family of Auburn; brothers Ralph Burridge and his wife Nanette of Union, Matt Libby and his wife Jen of Litchfield, Scott Libby and his wife Sandy of Bowdoinham; nieces, nephews; and cousins.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held Feb. 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a time of sharing at 2 p.m. in the building out behind Mic Mac Market, 24 Mic Mac Lane, in Union. The family asks if you have any, please bring photos and memories to share. This will be a BYOB event.
Burial will be in the Union Common Cemetery in Union in the spring.
