Peter A. Drapeau
WINSLOW – Peter A. Drapeau, 68, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025 at home surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on Jan. 26, 1957, the son of Robert E. Drapeau and Blanche Drapeau. He grew up in Waterville alongside his sister, Linda Drapeau.
Peter was educated in the Waterville school district and graduated from Waterville Senior High School in 1975.
He was a true mastermind in the business world, owning several throughout his career, Peter thrived on momentum and challenge. But beyond his work and countless accomplishments, it was the life he built around it that mattered most to him. His Shop was more than a workspace—it was a gathering place. There was always a seat for a friend, a conversation in progress, and a sense that you were welcome to stay as long as you wanted.
Peter was the kind of person who would drop everything to help anyone in need. No matter how busy he was—and he was almost always busy—if someone needed him, he showed up. He had an instinct to fix things, solve problems, and make life a little easier for the people around him. Slowing down was never in his nature. He was always pushing forward, always building, always thinking about what was next.
Peter had a deep love for his dogs, who were constant companions, and for the ocean, which brought him peace, perspective and joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Diane Drapeau; his daughter, Tayler Lindie, his son-in-law, Justin Lindie; his adored grandchildren, Harper and Shaw Lindie; as well as his cousin, Roger Michaud. To them, he was steady, generous, and fiercely loving—a man whose actions spoke even louder than words and whose presence made everything feel more secure.
Peter’s legacy is one of loyalty, hard work, kindness, and heart. He leaves behind a life well lived, friendships deeply rooted, and a family forever shaped by his love. He will be missed beyond measure and remembered always.
A private family gathering will be held this summer in remembrance of Peter and to celebrate his life.
