Tosan Evbuomwan scored nine of his 22 points in the third quarter as the Maine Celtics erased a nine-point deficit on their way to a 108-98 win over the Westchester Knicks in an NBA G League game Saturday afternoon at the Portland Expo.
Maine trailed 53-44 early in the third quarter but quickly tied the game on consecutive 3-pointers by Jalen Bridges, Max Shulga and Evbuomwan. The Celtics eventually took the lead for good on a dunk by Amari Williams that started a 14-2 run.
All five Maine starters scored in double figures. Williams had 19 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, Kendall Brown added 18 points, and Bridges and Shulga both finished with 10. Hasan Ward chipped in with 12 points and seven rebounds off the bench, and Hayden Gray had nine assists.
The teams meet against at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Expo.
