Angel Montas Jr. scored 30 points as UMass Lowell snapped a four-game losing streak Saturday afternoon with a 91-77 win over Maine in an America East men’s basketball game in Lowell, Massachusetts.
JJ Massaquoi added 19 points, Darrel Yepdo scored 17 and Xavier Spencer dropped in 15 for the River Hawks (9-14, 4-4 America East), who took the lead with a 12-0 run in the first half and were in control the rest of the way.
Logan Carey led Maine (5-18, 3-5) with a career-high 28 points on 11-for-15 shooting. He also had four steals. TJ Biel and Mekhi Gray both scored 17 points.
