Shirley Glotz-Herrle
WATERVILLE – Shirley Glotz-Herrle, 72, of Waterville, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 26, 2026.
She was born on Aug. 22, 1953, in Waterville, the daughter of Peter Norman and Dorothy O. (Leavitt) Glotz.
Shirley was educated in Waterville schools and studied to be a nurse.
Shirley was previously married to John Mincher and later to Frank Breznyak, Jr. In 2018, she married William Herrle, with whom she shared her later years.
She is survived by her loving husband, William Herrle; her children, John Mincher III and wife Beth, Timothy Stednitz, Larry Huggins, Christopher Huggins, Michelle Breznyak, Adam Breznyak, and Melissa Breznyak; and her grandchildren, Casey Mincher, Steven Lopez, Giovanni Garcia, and Melia Santos; and first cousin, Raymond Robinson and wife Lorraine.
She was predeceased by her parents; and son, Peter.
Shirley was a member of the National Association of the Leavitt Families. She enjoyed spending her time playing puzzles, as well as playing card games, and spending time with family, whenever she could. She also found comfort and strength in practicing her faith, which remained an important part of her life.
Shirley will be remembered by her family and friends for her devotion to those she loved and for the quiet moments shared around a table or a puzzle.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Waterville VFW, 51 Water St., Waterville, ME 04901.
