The No. 1 spot has changed for the seventh time in seven Varsity Maine boys basketball polls. Sanford has emerged to the top for the second time this season. Windham, last week’s No. 1, and Camden Hills have also been No. 1 twice, while South Portland has topped the poll once.

Sanford might be the team to hold onto the top spot for consecutive weeks. The Spartans finish the regular season against a team it has already beaten by 21 points, Kennebunk, and a team it beat by 30 points, Biddeford.

York received one first-place vote and moved up a spot into a tie for fourth. Edward Little rejoined the poll after a couple of weeks away, and is tied for seventh.

The Varsity Maine boys basketball poll is based on games played before Feb. 3, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
