Gage Mattson put up 21 points and Jack Fontaine added 18 as the Maranacook boys basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a 70-46 victory over Winthrop on Wednesday in Winthrop.

Elijah Freeman chipped in 10 points and Brennan Boyd hit three 3-pointers and had nine points for the Black Bears (14-4), who will be the second or third seed in the Class C South playoffs.

Graham Huri scored a game-high 23 points for the Ramblers (3-15).

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 52, OAK HILL 46: Freshman Tyler Day scored 22 points to lead the Mustangs (13-5) past the Raiders (9-9) in Wales.

Josh Iwuanyanwu added nine points and Aiden Oliveira scored eight for the Mustangs, who were missing leading scorer Levi Laverdiere. The Mustangs will be the No. 2 seed in the Class D South playoffs.

Keeghan Morrissette and Braden New scored 13 points apiece and Braden Dubuc had 11 for Oak Hill, who likely will host a C South prelim.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 67, TELSTAR 24: Kaitlyn Frost surpassed 1,000 career points in the first quarter of the Mustangs’ (10-8) victory over the Rebels (2-16) in a Class D South regular season finale in Monmouth.

Frost finished with a game-high 28 points. All 11 Monmouth players who played scored at least two points. The Mustangs finish the season on a four-game win streak and likely will be the No. 4 seed in the D South playoffs.

Ayva Jeselskis led Telstar with nine points.

GIRLS HOCKEY

PENOBSCOT 3, WINSLOW CO-OP 1: Ashlynn Dearborn scored twice for the fourth-seeded Pioneers (9-9-1) in a North quarterfinal victory over fifth-seeded Winslow/Gardiner/Messalonskee/Erskine/Mt. Blue/Lawrence/Cony/Waterville (6-11-2) at Penobscot Ice Arena in Brewer.

Dearborn opened the scoring in the first period and clinched the victory with a goal late in third. Ella Davis scored early in the third period and assisted on Dearborn’s first-period goal. Izzy Brideau notched two assists.

The Black Tigers tied the game in the first period.

Penobscot will take on the top-seeded Edward Little co-ope in a regional semifinal Saturday at Norway Savings Bank Arena in Auburn.

BOYS HOCKEY

CONY CO-OP 6, CAMDEN HILLS 2: Kyle Lepage’s hat trick helped pace the Rams (11-3) past the Windjammers (8-5) at MidCoast Recreation Center in Rockport.

Cooper Clark scored twice, while Jackson Wing added a goal and an assist.

Blake Christie and Bridger Witbeck each netted a goal for Camden Hills.
