Adrianna Smith scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, leading Maine to a 64-56 win over Bryant in an America East women’s basketball game Saturday in Orono.
Asta Blauenfeldt added 12 points, and Sarah Talon scored all 10 of her points in the second half for the Black Bears (13-11, 8-3 America East). Maine has won three in a row and remained in third place in the conference, behind Binghamton and Vermont.
Bryant (16-8, 6-5) held an 11-point lead early in the second quarter, but Smith scored 11 points and Lizzy Gruber got the other five for Maine during a 16-5 run that made it 31-31 at halftime.
The Black Bears took the lead for good on a jumper by Gruber midway through the third quarter. Gruber finished with nine points.
