A team is ranked No. 1 in consecutive Varsity Maine boys basketball polls for the first time this winter. Sanford took over the top spot last week and then finished its regular season with victories over Kennebunk and Biddeford. The Spartans will be the second seed in the Class A South playoffs, behind No. 3 Windham.

The only major change to this week’s rankings is Medomak Valley rejoining at No. 9.

Meanwhile, Brunswick moved up a spot to eighth, York and South Portland are no longer tied for fourth, and Edward Little is alone in seventh after sharing the spot with Gardiner last week.

The Varsity Maine boys basketball poll is based on games played before Feb. 10, 2026. The top 10 teams are voted on by the Varsity Maine staff, with first-place votes in parentheses, followed by total points.
