He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Maine in Orono in 1960 and later returned to complete his master’s degree. Bob devoted his entire professional career (35 years) to education. His first teaching position began at Williams High School, which later became Messalonskee High School in Oakland. There, he taught both physical education and mathematics and coached countless teams over the years.

Bob was predeceased by his brother, Richard “Sam” Dumond of Redondo Beach, Calif., his sister, Marie Humphrey, and brother-in-law, Ronald Humphrey of Old Town, and his brother-in-law, Richard Card of South Paris.
Bob will be fondly remembered by his large extended families; the Dumonds, the Tuttles, and the Martins. All will cherish his quick wit, ready smile, and unmatched talent for telling a good joke or a story. His warmth, humor, and love of life will continue to live on through the many generations he touched.
