Top-seeded Cony led from wire-to-wire as it opened its Class B North boys basketball title quest with a 63-51 quarterfinal win over Presque Isle at Cross Insurance Center in Bangor.
Parker Morin scored 21 points to Cony (17-2). Jackson Kay added 11 points and eight rebounds, and Carter Brathwaite had 11 points and six rebounds.
Kason Bua scored 16 points for eighth-seeded Presque Isle (10-10). Cruze Casavant finished with 11 points, and Nathan Tompkins contributed 10 points and 10 rebounds.
ELLSWORTH 47, MOUNT DESERT ISLAND 42: The fifth-seeded Eagles held the No. 4 Trojans to their fewest points of the season to claim a Class B North quarterfinal win at Cross Insurance Center.
Jackson Barry had 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead Ellsworth (15-4), which will play No. 1 Cony in the semifinals Wednesday afternoon. Colby Eaton and Eli Holler each chipped in with 10 points.
James Witham scored 16 points for MDI (15-4).
