Yarmouth/Freeport's Adelaide Strout takes possession of the puck against Penobscot during a Jan. 30 game in Yarmouth.

Adelaide Strout, who helped Yarmouth/Freeport win the girls hockey state championship this season, is one of four finalists for the Becky Schaffer Award.

The other finalists are Corinne Ramunno of the Biddeford co-op, Solveig Ledwick of Brunswick and Ellie Skolnekovich of the Cheverus co-op.

The award, which is given to the top senior girls hockey player in Maine, is named after former Yarmouth standout Becky Schaffer, who died in a hiking accident in 2011.

Strout, a defenseman, had 17 goals and 11 assists for Yarmouth/Freeport. Ramunno, a forward, recorded 29 goals and 17 assists for the Biddeford co-op, which finished 15-6 and lost to Cheverus in the South final. Ledwick, a defenseman, had 31 goals and nine assists for a Brunswick team that went 10-10 and lost to Yarmouth/Freeport in the North semifinals. Skolnekovich started 21 games for Cheverus, the South champion. She had a 0.82 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage.

The winner will be announced at the senior all-star game on Feb. 24 at Family Ice Center in Falmouth.
