Robert Cronin scored in the first period and assisted on third-period goals by Brooklyn Kalmikov and Zach Jordan, leading the Maine Mariners to a 4-1 win over the Bloomington Bison in an ECHL game Friday night in Bloomington, Illinois.
Brad Arvanitis made 33 saves and was less than two minutes away from his second shutout in a row when Mark Kaleinikovas scored after Bloomington pulled its goalie for an extra attacker.
Colin Felix then restored Maine’s three-goal lead with an empty netter.
It was the third straight win for the Mariners, who are in the midst of eight consecutive road games. Maine also plays Bloomington on Saturday and Sunday.
