Dale Jeffrey Fellows
AUGUSTA – Dale Jeffrey Fellows passed away in the early morning of Feb. 11, 2026 at Maine General Medical Center in Augusta after a long battle with kidney disease and a brief battle with cancer.
He was born Feb. 13, 1952 to Nathan “Nat” and Virginia “Ginny” Fellows in Norfolk, Va. The family returned to Ginny’s native Maine when he was a toddler. He attended Augusta schools and graduated from Cony High School in 1970.
He was a man of many names. Dale, only, for the most official business, like his years spent in the Civil Air Patrol. “Jeff” to most everyone else. “Bodine” to friends from his high school days or “Uncle Bo” to his nephews. Dad, to his children and all the dogs he loved through the years. His favorite name of them all, though, was “Pop”, a name he was proudly called by his five grandchildren.
He loved the outdoors and spent his youth skiing and raising a ruckus at Sugarloaf. He almost always had a dog with a special affection for golden retrievers and labs. For the last several years, he enjoyed his puppies, Hope and Holly. He loved The Beach Boys and anything with a motor. He spent a lot of his time woodworking, including making signs for all the teachers his children had.
Dale was predeceased by his father, Nat, mother, Ginny, stepfather, Dana Dogherty; stepbrother, Dwight; and former father-in-law, George Powell, who was a close friend.
He is survived by his son, Nathan, daughter, Dana Lyne Johnson and her husband Matthew; grandchildren Aubrey, Eli, Abraham, Walter, and Henry; sister, Judy Skehan and her husband Brian, stepsister, Susan Lawrence and her husband Dave; and several nephews and cousins.
No services will be held, in accordance with his wishes.
