David “Tinker” W. Lyons
NEWPORT – David “Tinker” W. Lyons went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Feb. 22, 2026. He was born April 24, 1945, the son of Walter and Maxine (Corliss) Lyons.
David worked in various shoe shops when he was younger before deciding to go into business for himself. He purchased his first ramp truck, which led to the founding of A & T Towing. He loved operating his ramp truck and took great pride in helping his family, friends, and community through his work.
Above all, David loved his family. He enjoyed traveling with them and hosting family gatherings whenever possible. He especially loved snowmobiling, riding his side-by-side ATV, country music, barbecues, pig roasts, and trips to the family camp at Wyman Lake. Anything outdoors, David was all for.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Arlene Lyons, the love of his life, who stood faithfully by his side and supported him in all his endeavors, especially during the last two years of his courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
He is also survived by his children, Delbert Williamson and wife Amanda, Eric Lyons and wife Kelly, and Vickie Dodge and husband Michael; stepchildren, Chris and wife Rea, Pam and husband Tom, Karen and husband Monte, and Gail and husband Jeff; eight grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sisters, Irene “Dolly” Robbins and Bonnie Tweedie, his brother-in-law, Skipper Sendzik; as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and his best friend, Rex Dillingham.
He was predeceased by his son, Stephen Lyons; stepdaughter, Melody Grant; grandsons, Jeb and Tanner, and granddaughter, Kathy.
David was a man who dressed casually, and the family kindly requests those attending to do the same in his honor.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Bristol Hospice of Bangor for the care, compassion, and comfort given to David in his final weeks.
