Defenseman Frank Djurasevic scored twice in the second period, and the University of Maine men’s hockey team picked up its fourth straight win Saturday, 3-2 over Northeastern in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Djurasevic tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period, then made it 2-1 less than three minutes later during a delayed penalty against Northeastern.
Sully Scholle got the eventual winning goal later in the second as Maine (18-12-3, 12-10-1 Hockey East) held on to fifth place in the Hockey East standings with one game remaining. The Black Bears need a win next Saturday against Vermont or a Boston University loss or tie to avoid a preliminary round game in the conference playoffs.
Maine goalie Mathis Rousseau made 23 saves.
