Maine Poetry Out Loud State Final
Check out the Maine Poetry Out Loud State Final at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
The free event features Maine’s top high school poetry reciters in the spotlight, where powerful performance and spoken word come together on a grand stage.
This public event features students from across Maine competing for the title and the opportunity to represent the state at the National Poetry Out Loud Finals in Washington, DC.
“The Crucible”
Lights Up Productions plans to stage “The Crucible” March 6-15 at Skowhegan Opera House, 225 Water St., Skowhegan.
Performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
About the play: In the town of Salem, Massachusetts in 1692, rumors of witchcraft caused the town to fall into mass hysteria as the townspeople start to accuse one another. The Salem witch trials begin causing riots and anger. In this dark tale we see how one girl’s lies can wreak havoc on a Puritan town.
Tickets cost $15 general admission or $10 for seniors and children younger than 16.
The Stoneheads
Exile on Water Street: an evening with the Stoneheads is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St., Gardiner.
Featuring members of the Boneheads and The Maine Dead Project, the band delivers a high energy show.

Gubbulidis
The Waldo Theatre is set to present Gubbulidis at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Waldo Theatre, 916 Main St., Waldoboro.
The band features guitarist and vocalist Mihali Savoulidis and bassist Zdenek Gubb, the founding members behind jam-rock band Twiddle. Reconnecting as part of a new chapter, the duo taps into the chemistry that shaped its sound for over a decade, playing out Twiddle favorites alongside explorational improvisation and genre-blending grooves.

Wonderboy
Michael Carbonaro plans to take the stage at 7 p.m. Saturday at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
Carbonaro is an actor, magician and comedian who has built a career turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Best known as the star of the hit truTV series “The Carbonaro Effect,” he’s made millions laugh by blending quick-witted comedy with illusions in everyday settings.

FOR KIDS: Glow Night
Take the kids to Glow Night is set for 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at Children’s Discovery Museum of Central Maine, 7 Eustis Parkway, Waterville.
The event will feature black lights and glow activities, light shows, popcorn, dancing and glow play in the Exhibit Hall.
Cost is $10 per person.

Juston McKinney prepares to entertain folks at 8 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
With multiple appearances on “The Tonight Show,” one-hour specials on Comedy Central, and Amazon Prime, including “Parentally Challenged” and “On Mid-Life Support,” McKinney is at the top of his game. He recently released his fifth stand-up special, “On the Bright Side.”
