Bates senior center Elsa Daulerio was named the New England Small College Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the year Wednesday after leading the conference champions in scoring (14.2 points per game), rebounding (7.3) and blocks (2.7).

The Harpswell native was also named defensive player of the year, becoming only the third player in conference history to win both awards in the same season.

Junior guard Sarah Hughes (11.0 ppg, 5.5 rpg) joined Daulerio, a three-time first-team all-conference selection, on the all-NESCAC first team.

Bates coaches Allison Montgomery, Jackie Luckhardt, Jack Stannard and Mike Seltzer were named the coaching staff of the year after leading the Bobcats to a 24-3 record, its first conference title since 2022, and a third-straight trip to the NCAA Division III tournament.

Maine players filled five of the seven spots on the first team. Bowdoin junior forward Abbie Quinn (14.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg) and sophomore guard Grace Kinum (13.7 ppg, 6.7 rpg) were on the list, as was Colby junior guard Kate Olenik (15.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg), now a two-time selection. Kinum led the league in assists (4.2) and was second in steals (2.0).

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Bowdoin sophomore guard Ray Cuevas (22.2 ppg) and Bates junior forward Babacar Pouye (14.3 ppg, 7.9 rpg) were both named first-team all-NESCAC. Cuevas led the league in scoring and 3-point percentage (45.0%).

Colby sophomore center Dan Civello (18.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg) earned second-team honors.

MEN’S HOCKEY

Bowdoin sophomore goalie Jacob Osborne was named the NESCAC defensive player of the year after leading the league in goals-against average (1.65) and save percentage (.941). Osborne’s four shutouts are tied for the most in the league.

Junior defenseman Isaac Abbott joined his goaltender on the all-conference first team. Colby sophomore forward Colby Browne was also named to the first team.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

Bowdoin is represented by senior defensemen Emma Merrill on the first team and junior forward Luna Lu on the second team.

Colby senior forward Courtney Schumacher earned first-team honors, and senior defensemen Jo Tattersall earned second-team honors.
