Caitlyn McCoy scored 15 points, Breanna Dyer finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Central Maine Community College advanced to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Division 2 women’s basketball championship game by earning a 74-67 semifinal win over Penn State York on Friday in Buffalo, New York.

Josie Friend also reached double figures with 12 points, and Ava Smith was a key contributor with seven points and 11 rebounds. Top-seeded CMCC (28-1) seeking its fourth national championship since 2017, will play for the title at 5 p.m. Saturday against Miami-Hamilton (15-7), which defeated UMaine-Augusta 81-66 in the other semifinal.

UMaine-Augusta (21-7), the No. 2 seed, led only once, at 14-13 late in the first quarter. The Moose got 16 points and 23 rebounds from Lillian Cox, but they couldn’t slow down Kirsten Cross, who placed Miami-Hamilton with 34 points.

Cox was 7 for 7 from the field. She was joined in double figures by Annabelle Morris (18 points), Yvonne Roberge (16) and Bella Petrocci (14).

Miami-Hamilton defeated Central Maine CC in last year’s national semifinals, 70-57. The Harriers also ended the Mustangs’ championship hopes in the quarterfinal round of the 2024 USCAA tournament.
