BRUNSWICK – On Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, Jean passed away at her home, Coastal Landing in Brunswick, with her family by her side.
Jean’s early school years were spent in Presque Isle, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Bangor. She graduated from Freeport High School in 1948.
After high school, Jean was accepted at New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, graduating and receiving her R.N. in 1952. Previous to this, she married Ken Wilson, her high school sweetheart. When Ken graduated from UMO with a degree in engineering, they started their family, raising three children, Deborah Lynn, Mitchell Scott, and Kimberly Jean.
The family moved many times during Ken’s career with Westinghouse, making many wonderful friends along the way. Jean retired from nursing in 1980, concentrating on their growing family. In 1991, they built their retirement home on Flying Point in Freeport, spending 25 years there, enjoying family gatherings and friend’s visits.
Jean and Ken moved to Coastal Landing in Brunswick in 2016. Ken’s health started declining in 2020, and he passed away in 2021.
Jean remained at Coastal Landing and was active in the lives of her children, four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren until her death.
A private graveside service for Ken and Jean, and their son, Mitch will be held for family and close friends later this year.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Coastal Landing, her many friends there, her medical teams, CHANS Hospice, and Comfort Keepers for their devoted care.
