
Femmes of Rock
The Femmes of Rock plan to perform at 8 p.m. Friday at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
The high-energy multimedia production show blends electrifying strings, powerful vocals, and a three-piece rock band, featuring unique arrangements of classics by Queen, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, AC/DC, Van Halen and more.
Created and fronted by rock violinist Nina DiGregorio, the Femmes have shared stages with Kansas, Bad Company, Ted Nugent, Cheap Trick and Lynyrd Skynyrd, with a resumé that includes stints with Stevie Wonder, David Foster, The Killers, Beyonce´ and Deep Purple.

Eileen Jewell
Waldo Theatre is set to host Eileen Jewell at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 916 Main St., Waldoboro.
Jewell’s most recent album, “Get Behind The Wheel,” focuses on picking up the pieces of her shattered world and finding new purpose and meaning after watching her marriage, her band, and what felt like her entire career fall apart in a series of spectacular, heartbreaking implosions.
Jewell built her career by touring relentlessly. Over the course of nine albums, she’s crisscrossed the globe countless times and shared bills with the likes of Lucinda Williams, Loretta Lynn, Mavis Staples, Wanda Jackson, George Jones, and Emmylou Harris.

Boxty
The Irish folk band Boxty is set to take the state at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St., Bath.
Founded by Dublin-born singer Cormac Marnell, the band was born from a passion to keep Irish folk music alive. Blending Irish folk classics with the spirit of contemporary legends like The Saw Doctors, The Pogues, and The Waterboys, Boxty creates a sound that’s as authentic as it is fresh.

Pokey LaFarge
Following up the international success of “Rhumba Country,” Pokey LaFarge plans to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Waldo Theatre, 916 Main St., Waldoboro.
The solo tour started in January and will run through March, playing an intimate set to theaters and jazz clubs throughout California and the Northeast.
He’ll be reimagining songs from his nine-album catalog as well as new interpretations of gospel, rock n’ roll and country classics.

Juston McKinney
Comedian Juston McKinney prepares to entertain folks at 8 p.m. Saturday at Waterville Opera House, 1 Common St., Waterville.
With multiple appearances on “The Tonight Show,” one-hour specials on Comedy Central, and Amazon Prime, including “Parentally Challenged” and “On Mid-Life Support,” McKinney is at the top of his game. He recently released his fifth stand-up special, “On the Bright Side.”

Solas
Check out Solas at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 15, at Waldo Theatre, 916 Main St., Waldoboro.
Formed in New York City in 1995, Solas quickly rose to prominence as a force in Irish-American music. The very first iteration of the band brought together a lineup of talent including multi-instrumentalist Séamus Egan, fiddler Winifred Horan, vocalist Karan Casey, guitarist John Doyle, and accordionist John Williams. Together, they redefined the Celtic sound for a new generation, weaving traditional Irish tunes with elements of folk, bluegrass, Americana and contemporary songwriting.

Eclipse: A tribute to Pink Floyd plans to take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, at Johnson Hall Opera House, 280 Water St., Gardiner.
The Portland-based band, formed in 2018 by Tom Faunce, uses Maine-based musicians to recreate the Pink Floyd concert experience.

For kids: Tree Saplings for Kids from Neighborhood Forest
Sign up for a free tree by March 15, and it will arrive the week of Earth Day at Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St., in Waterville.
The library has partnered with Neighborhood Forest to give children a sapling. The library will contact you when the tree is ready for pick up.
