Scott Clinton McEachern

BOWDOIN – Scott passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Feb. 25, 2026. He was born in Bangor to Elizabeth “Betty” (Larson) and Clinton McEachern, Sept. 9, 1950.

Scott spent the majority of his career in the transportation industry that comprised a variety of nuances. He began learning the industry working for Richard Moore Trucking in Waldoboro, which then expanded to R.C. Moore in Scarborough and his long-haul trucking career was off and running. His last assignment was at PALCO in Saco, where Scott was a key player in developing the Eimskip partnership that supplies products from Iceland. During almost 50 years in the “business” he was involved in policy and regulation for the transportation industry in Maine, and was a member of the Maine Worker’s Comp Commission under the McKearnan administration.

Scott had an adventurous spirit in his younger years, after attending college at the University of Orono he set out for the “road traveler” experience across the county. He loved music and was able to attend numerous concerts and be part of the music scene of the 1970’s. He always had a story to tell about his adventures and loved to tell them.

Scott’s first love was sports! He enjoyed all the major categories of sporting, and spent most of his free time immersed in either watching or playing sports, especially the New England teams. He played hockey in his youth and softball, being a veteran member of the Natural Food Allstars in Waterville. He also enjoyed getting together with his “buddies” to play cards, attend sporting events, boating and any other trouble that seem to find them. Scott retired in 2019 and enjoyed a calmer life of golfing with his best friends and fishing at the lake in the summer, always lamenting about the big one that got away.

He is survived by his son, Ian McEachern and wife Tammy of North Carolina; his partner, Cindy Namer of Bowdoin; his brother Chuck McEachern of Waterville; and his nieces, Erica and Ashley. He was predeceased by his daughter, Scarlett McEachern; and his parents.

He would have wanted to express his thanks and gratitude to the compassionate and caring doctors and nurses of Cardiac Malone Tower, Maine Medical Center and Springbrook that treated him with dignity and took such special care of him.

At Scott’s request there will not be any funeral services, but we would like to extend our gratitude for the love and support from all his “friends that are like family”.
