Edith B. Weymouth
AUGUSTA – Edith B. Weymouth, 92, died on March 10, 2026 at MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care at Gray Birch.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1933 in Moscow, Maine, a daughter of William and Pauline (McMackin) Frith.
In her younger years Edith was employed at W.T. Grants store, and Claristat where she built electronic parts, and Healthtex as a seamstress.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting along with needlepoint. Christmas was a favorite time of year when she enjoyed singing Christmas carols with her family- she had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed listening to Jim Reeves.
Edith and her husband, Ralph, were active members at Christ Church Episcopal in Gardiner.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Weymouth; her parents; and siblings Diane Lathrop and Elizabeth Richard.
She is survived by her three sons, Michael Weymouth and his wife, Jeannie, Stephen Weymouth and his wife, Nina, and Joseph Weymouth and his wife, Sheri; grandchildren, Keleine Laflin and her husband Scott, Julie Murphy and her fiancée Chip, James Weymouth and his wife Nikki, Tammy Gagne, Jenny Michaud and her husband Bobby, Kenneth Weymouth and his wife Tracy, Hayley Deer and her husband Wyatt, Peter Ayers and his wife Jen, Kristopher Ayers and his wife Marina, Hannah Bryant and her husband Ansel, Matthew Ayers and his wife Danielle, Christopher Weymouth and his partner Jamie and Joseph Weymouth and his partner Ashley; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings William Frith, II and his wife Cindy, Marion Sides and her husband Joe, and Elaine Hunter.
The family would like to thank the folks at Balsam House Assisted Living in Readfield, Andwell hospice team, and MaineGeneral Long Term Care at Gray Birch in Augusta, for their part in Edith’s care.
A period of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330 where a memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. A committal service will be held at a later date.
