Francesco Lapenna made 29 saves for his first professional shutout as the Trois-Rivières Lions blanked the Maine Mariners 3-0 on Sunday at Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
Mathieu Bizier, Anthony Beauregard and Charles Martin scored first-period goals for the Lions, who took three games in their four-game series. Martin’s goal broke Maine’s streak of 32 consecutive successful penalties killed.
Luke Cavallin made 26 saves for the Mariners (39-19-6-2).
