The Maine Mariners four times in the second period and wrapped up home-ice advantage in the first round of the ECHL playoffs with a 7-2 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Saturday night at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Maine is 41-19-6-3 and will host either Adirondack or Reading in the North Division semifinals starting on April 24.
Jacob Perreault and Linus Hemstrom scored in the first period to give the Mariners the lead. Sebastian Vidmar, Perreault, Loke Johansson and Zach Jordan scored in the second, then Robert Cronin and scored in the third to make it 7-0.
Vidmar has scored in three straight games. Cronin added three assists.
Carter Korpi scored twice in the third period for Norfolk.
Brad Arvanitis made 28 saves for Maine, while Alex Worthington stopped 24 shots for the Admirals.
Maine will wrap up its weekend series against Norfolk at 3 p.m. Saturday.
