Inez Lavallee

AUGUSTA – Inez Lavallee, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, humor, and unwavering loyalty.

Born and raised in Augusta, and a proud graduate of Cony High School, Class of 1961, Inez carried her Maine roots with her throughout her life.

She worked as a pediatric nurse aide at Broward General Hospital and later at the Augusta Rehab Center, where she was known for her compassion and gentle care. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the Augusta Rehab Center for their support and kindness.

Inez loved music, especially Engelbert Humperdinck, Julio Iglesias, Tom Jones, and Blake Shelton, and she remained a devoted fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics. She cherished the family home on Child Street and the memories made there.

She was predeceased by her son, Francis and is survived by her son, Lance; her grandchildren; her niece, Michelle, and Michelle’s children Georgia, Aaron, and Angel. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Harvey and Brenda; and her nephew, Earle Harvey.

Inez treasured her cousin Carol Paduan, and two people who held a truly special place in her heart were Tony Sousa and Alice Grondin, whose laughter, compassion, and comfort made her feel deeply loved. She also shared meaningful friendships with Cindy French, Ann Kogan, Linda Norton and Pam Savoy, whose kindness and loyalty enriched her life.

Her longtime friends included Evelyn Grondin and Marion Giblin, and she held warm memories of Bob and Shalene, Mary Hanson, the French family, and her sister-in-law, Diane Lavallee. She also fondly remembered her colleague Constant and the joy brought by Lance’s childhood friends from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

When Inez made a friend, she made them for life. She will be remembered for her warmth, her loyalty, and the love she gave so freely.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manchester. Arrangements have been entrusted to Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta, ME 04330. Condolences stories and photos may be shared by visiting http://www.plummerfh.com.
