I want to be among the first to thank and congratulate the Boston Police Department, Fire Department and other emergency personnel for their fast, effective responses to the bomb explosions at the Boston Marathon. Their training paid off.
In our little town, we have a volunteer fire department — nothing like a big city operation. Still, they are well-trained for both routine and emergency situations.
When something tragic like the Boston bombings happens, it’s a huge reminder that these truly heroic men and women of large and small response teams merit our appreciation and support. My heartfelt gratitude to all of them.
