BRUNSWICK — The Erskine softball team fended off a late rally to edge Brunswick 12-11 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday afternoon.
Alison Gauvin led the Eagles (7-6) with three singles. Taylor Boucher and Alyssa Gartley each had two hits for Erskine. Boucher and Avery Bond each had a double.
Leah Andreotti had three singles for Brunswick (0-14).
Richmond 25, Buckfield 2, 5 innings: Jamie Plummer had two singles and four RBIs to lead the Bobcats to the Western D victory in Buckfield.
Kelsie Obie had a triple and an RBI and Payton Johnson doubled and drove in a run to lead Richmond (12-0). Plummer struck out seven and didn’t walk anybody to earn the victory.
Alannah Knox and Elizabeth Damon each had singles to lead Buckfield (3-7).
Baseball
Brunswick 9, Erskine 5: Adam Casey had a three-run double and Brunswick scored eight runs in the bottom of the third inning to pull away for the KVAC A victory.
Casey had two hits and John Parker earned the win for the Dragons (4-9).
John Suga tripled and singled to lead Erskine (4-9).
Buckfield 11, Richmond 3: The Bobcats committed seven errors and issued 11 walks in losing the East/West Conference game in Buckfield.Winning pitcher Dalton Hart struck out seven and walked two. Colin Acord singled three times for Richmond (5-6) while teamate Eddie Stewart singled and doubled.
Girls lacrosse
Cony 16, Brunswick 10: Emily Quirion scored six goals and Jose Lee had three goals and an assist to lead the Rams to the Eastern A win in Brunswick.
Bayleigh Logan also scored thre goals for the Rams (7-3). Hayley Quirion scored a goal and two assists as well. Mary Kirschner, Katie Carroll and Haley Hanks also scored for Cony.
Eliza Brooks had four goals and Libby Darfour added a pair to lead the Dragons (3-8).
