When starting to read the Jan. 23 edition, I turned to page 2 to be confronted with a disgusting picture of Gov. Janet Mills and House Speaker Sarah Gideon laughing at an event honoring the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, a decision that celebrates the murder of unborn children. May the Good Lord forgive them for their ignorance.

As the father of five, grandfather of nine and great grandfather of 14, I feel so blessed for my family, and thank God for looking over all of us.

I sincerely hope that the new proposed legislation of not allowing this depravity to continue after a heartbeat is heard passes; the silencing of a heartbeat at any time, regardless of age, is a homicide for sure.
