PALMYRA — Army 1st Lt. Daniel R. York has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
York is a sapper platoon leader assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He has served in the military for two and a half years.
He is a 2005 Nokomis Regional High School graduate. He earned a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from Norwich University, Northfield, Vt.
York is the son of Danny and Kathy York of Palmyra.
