HARTLAND — Police are looking for a third person connected to a burglary at Irving Tannery earlier this week.

Two boys, both 17, were arrested Tuesday after a tannery employee discovered a man inside the building about 11 o’clock that night and called police, said Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi II of the Somerset County Sheriff’s Department.

The man fled before sheriff’s deputies arrived, but they found the boys during a search of the building, Gottardi said.

Deputies also found marijuana, drug-related paraphernalia and tools used for stealing copper, Gottardi said.

The juveniles, from Hartland, are charged with burglary, theft and possession of marijuana.

The building is now secure, said Bill Norbert, a spokesman for the Finance Authority of Maine, one of the building’s owners.
