We are mothers who strive to ensure that our kids can grow up in a safe, loving environment. We are also family practitioners in a small practice in Readfield who work hard to improve the health of our community.
To suggest, as the NRA did today, that our children will be safer with armed adults in their schools and that arming “good guys” will keep “bad guys” at bay is ludicrous. What will keep us safe and protect our health is removing assault weapons from the hands of private citizens and modeling peaceful means of conflict resolution for our children.
We will be contacting our representatives at every level to communicate our views. We hope you will too.
