GARDINER — Spencer Allen and Dennis Meehan both homered as Gardiner defeated Amato’s of Rockland, 11-1, in a Zone 2 American Legion Baseball game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule.

Meehan hit a grand slam in the second inning and also singled. Jim Theriault and Jensen Orewiler also had two hits apiece for Gardiner (7-2). Kyle Fletcher pitched all five innings, allowing four hits.

Amato’s dropped to 5-5.

South China Subway 5, Augusta 0: Dylan Botbyl pitched a complete-game two-hitter and had two hits as Subway won in Augusta.

Botbyl walked two and struck out 10. He also had two doubles and teammate Jory Humphrey added a double and a single for Subway (5-2). Five of Subway’s 10 hits were doubles.

Brad Shepherd had both hits for Augusta (1-9), a double and a single.

Lincoln County 7, Franklin County 5: Brandon Riley had two doubles, stole two bases and scored three runs to lead Lincoln County in a Zone 2 game.

Lincoln (4-6) scored three in the top of the fourth to snap a 3-3 game.

Ryan Greenman homered and had two singles to pace Franklin County (2-7).
