WATERVILLE — The Alfond Youth Center will host the annual Doc & Mardie Brown 5k Road Race and children’s one-mile fun run Saturday, Aug. 11.

The fun run will begin at 8:30 a.m. followed by the 5k at 9 a.m. The first 50 runners to register will receive a free T-shirt and there are more than $800 in prizes and awards in this year’s race. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Alfond Youth Center.
