LEWISTON — The condition of a Westbrook man injured in a crash in Bowdoinham has improved.
Larry Huff, 62, was in serious condition at Central Maine Medical Center on Wednesday morning. He had been initially been in critical condition after the accident Tuesday afternoon.
Police said Huff was driving a minivan south on Interstate 295 when he started to steer into the passing lane, noticed another vehicle there and swerved back. The minivan hit the shoulder and Huff overcorrected, with the van swerving across the highway, into the left guardrail and bouncing back to the other side of the road, police said.
The impact with the guardrail peeled open a door through which Huff was catapulted, police said.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
