BELFAST — Kelsey Richards scored three goals in the second half as the Nokomis Regional High School girls soccer team earned a 4-1 win over Belfast in the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B opener for both teams Saturday.

Sierra Fortin also scored for Nokomis (1-0-0), while Lacey Kent-Webber and Tirza Ashruf each had an assist.

Alexis Racioppi scored for Belfast (0-1-0).

Nokomis goalie Becky Orcutt made three saves, while Belfast goalie Brianne Cummings made 20 saves.

Bangor 3, Lawrence 1: Bangor scored a pair of second half goals to beat Lawrence 3-1 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A girls soccer game Saturday.

Lindsay Morris scored the lone goal of the game for Lawrence (0-1-0). Faith Belanger stopped eight shots.

Greenville 4, Rangeley 1:

Four different players scored as Greenville won its season opener, in Rangeley.

Michaella Gilbert, Shelby Ward, Brooke Noyes and Lean Bilodeau all scored for Greenville (1-0-0).

Abby Abbott scored with an assist from Jenny Abbott for Rangeley (0-1-0). Meg Target stopped 13 shots.

Boys soccer

Hampden 6, Messalonskee 1: Tristan Gardiner scored the first three goals of the game and the Broncos rolled to the Eastern A win in Oakland.

Ignacio Cires De Orbe, Cam Scott and Erik Hanson also scored for Hampden (1-0), which had 26 shots on net.

Kevin McCarthy scored the lone goal for Messalonskee (0-1) off a throw-in from Alex Runser.

Wiscasset 2, Carrabec 1, 2OT: Dale Peaslee scored an unassisted goal in overtime as Wiscasset won in North Anson.

Will Crawford scored in the first half to give Madison a 1-0 lead. Jennings Souza scored five minutes later to tie the game for Wiscasset.

Nathaniel Mills had 14 saves for Wiscasset (1-0-0), while Trent Richardson had 16 saves for Carrabec (0-1-0).

Hall-Dale 6, Mt. Abram 1: Nat Crocker and Zac McNaughton each scored two goals as the Bulldogs opened their season with an MVC win over the Roadrunners in Salem.

Colin Lush and Zac Plummer also scored for Hall-Dale, while Spencer Shagoury, Crocker, Lush and Steven Longfellow each had an assist. Sam Shepherd and Brian Allen combined for three saves.

Cortland Talmage scored and Tristen Dyer had 17 saves for Mt. Abram.

High school football

Oceanside 34, Nokomis 27: Quarterback Sam Melkin had a strong game for the Mariners, who took the PTC B win in Rockland.

“It was their passing game where they had success with us,” Nokomis coach Haggie Pratt said.

The game was suspended early in the first quarter on Friday night due to a thunderstorm, with Oceanside facing third and goal from the Nokomis 5 yard line. Two plays in the game’s resumption on Saturday morning, the Mariners scored to take the lead.

Noah Kershner had 25 carries for 140 yards and a touchdown for Nokomis. Josh King had to touchdown receptions from Chandler Foss, and Foss added a 1-yard touchdown run for the Warriors.
