11:41 a.m., a theft was reported to police at the Hallowell Police Department, Winthrop Street.

Wednesday: At 9:40 a.m., an accident was reported on Kinderhook Street.
Monmouth
Wednesday: At 7 p.m., Monmouth firefighters responded to a home on Cressey Road for a report of smoke. Fire Chief Dan Roy said an electrical receptacle caught on fire and self-extinguished. An ambulance was called to check on an occupant, and Roy said there was no carbon monoxide problem. Firefighters were at the scene for about 30 minutes.

Wednesday: At 8:15 a.m., an accident was reported on Dirigo Road.
ArrestAugusta
Thursday: At 2:06 p.m., Kalon C. Birkner, 34, of Gardiner, was arrested following a motor vehicle accident at Maine State Credit Union on Hospital Street. Birkner was charged with violating condition of release, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, a warrant charged failure to appear in court on a charge of theft.
