FARMINGTON — The following University of Maine at Farmington events are free and open to the public unless noted otherwise.

* ECAC Event: The Logic of Yoo: A Reader’s Theater Production will begin at 6:30 p.m.m Thursday at Emery Community Arts Center. The Beloit Poetry Journal published a book-length poem “The Logic of Yoo” by New Jersey poet Michael Broek last year. BPJ editors John Rosenwald and Lee Sharkey turned it into a play. Its world premier will be performed on campus, with both the poet and the editors taking prominent roles. For more information, email rawlings@ maine.edu, or call 778-7292.

* A reading by poet Richard Blanco is set for 8 p.m. Thursday at The Landing, UMF Olsen Student Center.. Blanco will read some of his work. The reading is part of this years’ Visiting Writers Series. For more information, email jeffrey.thomson@ maine.edu, or call 778-7454.

* Fall open houses will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, and Saturday, Oct. 13, the event is for college-bound students and their families. Faculty presentations, campus tours, lunch and more is planned. Registration will be at Merrill Hall.
