I often search for the wisdom in Gov. Paul LePage’s ways, but he certainly makes it difficult. His veto of the drunken driver repeat offender bill “because it doesn’t go far enough” is a case in point.
Since his office did not participate in the bill’s development or debate, why couldn’t we adopt its enhanced protections for the people of Maine and improve on it in subsequent sessions to get the better result he claims to seek. LePage’s impulsive, unreasoned, bull-in-the-china-closet style of governance is a sad spectacle to behold.
