LIMESTONE – Students from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics recently distinguished themselves at the Maine State Science Fair at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor.
Heather Brown of East Orland, Kathryn Peterson of Auburn, and Judy Yau of Newport won first place in Group A: Biochemistry, Biology, Medicine & Plant Science for their research project “Good Vibrations: The Effect of Movement Has on Plant Development.”
The fair has grown since the Jackson Laboratory started hosting the event in 2010. The competition is open to all Maine high school students. This year, the lab received applications from 153 students.
