WATERVILLE — Police are investigating a smash-and-grab burglary of a small amount of cash from a restaurant Tuesday morning.

Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey said a pair of burglars used a rock to smash a window at Dunkin Donuts on College Avenue. A woman entered the store, removed a cash drawer and passed it to an accomplice through the broken window before escaping on foot toward Main Street.

Surveillance video from the store shows the burglary lasted less than two-minutes, Rumsey said. He wouldn’t say how much money was stolen.

The incident is still under investigation. Rumsey said. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 680-4700, he said.
