A Waterville high school graduate’s Kickstarter project met its fundraising goal to create a short film about Donn Fendler’s harrowing experience when he was lost on Mount Katahdin in 1939.
Ryan Cook, a 2005 Waterville Senior High School graduate, raised $1,670 more than the $15,000 goal by the Jan. 31 to make a promotional film about Fendler’s story in “Lost on a Mountain in Maine.”
Cook said he’ll use the money to film cliffhanger snippets in hopes that investors will agree to fund production of a full-length feature film based on the 128-page book by Fendler and Joseph B. Egan.
