VINALHAVEN — Danica Hurley, Ciarra Lancaster and Kelsie Obie each had three hits to lead the Richmond High School softball team past Vinalhaven 19-1 in the season opener for both teams Saturday.
Leandra Martin pitched a complete game to earn the victory. She struck out 10 and allowed three hits. Brianna Snedeker and Alyssah Pearson each doubled for Richmond as well.
Jamie Plummer and Kayla Hurley also had two hits for Richmond.
Baseball
Vinalhaven 10, Richmond 6: Steven Osgood had four singles to lead the Vikings in the season opener at Vinalhaven. Cody Lyon had two singles and a double, and Brian Stanley pitched a complete game to earn the win. Stanley allowed just four hits.
Tyler Harrington had a double to lead the Bobcats.
