BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox losing streak will remain at five games, for now. The Red Sox-Yankees game scheduled for tonight at Fenway Park has been rained out.

The make-up date for the game will be announced later. Tickets for tonight will be good for that game.

The Yankees would have gone for a sweep of the Red Sox tonight. The Sox were hoping to bounce back from a spirit-crushing defeat Saturday, after blowing a 9-0 lead.

But with the rain out, the Red Sox can get an early start on their seven-game road trip, which begins Monday night in Minnesota.

Boston is currently 4-10, 4 1/2 games behind the first-place Yankees in the American League East Division.
