Five charged with underage drinking

FAIRFIELD — Five people were charged with underage drinking late Saturday night after police raided a party off Center Road.

Three officers from Fairfield and several members of the Northern Kennebec Underage Drinking Task Force responded to the report.Samantha R. Spaulding, 18, of 15 Osborne St., Fairfield, and Dustin

Thomas Winchester, 18, of 297 Dresser School Road, Albany Township, were summoned on one charge each of possession by consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Two 17-year-olds and one 15-year-old were summoned on the same charges.

“We’re not trying to be miserable, we’re trying to save lives,” Fairfield police Chief John Emery said. “We certainly want them to be around to enjoy prom and graduation.”
