WATERVILLE — Police are investigating a burglary that occurred early Tuesday at Bolley’s Famous Franks on College Avenue and whether it may be related to other recent area burglaries.

Waterville Deputy police Chief Charles Rumsey said someone broke out the glass door to the hot dog business Tuesday, and a passerby reported the incident to police around 2:25 a.m.

“We’ve been getting hit by a real spate of them (burglaries) lately,” Rumsey said Tuesday afternoon.

The cash register at Bolley’s had been pulled off the counter onto the floor and less than $1 in coins had been taken, Rumsey said.

He said police are investigating whether the burglary is related to recent burglaries at College Quik Stop, Dunkin Donuts and T&B Celebration Center.

He asked that anyone with information on the burglaries call police at 680-4700.
