Staff report

BATH — Stephanie Plourde had a double, two singles and four RBIs and Brittany Rollins was a homer shy of the cycle as the Gardiner softball team beat Morse 10-4 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Wednesday afternoon.

Rollins had a double, a triple, a single and two RBIs for Gardiner (3-0). Morgan Carver added three singles and two RBIs, while Taylor Banister had three singles.

Morse fell to 0-2.

Cony 8, Mt. Ararat 0: Nicole Rugan homered and three Cony pitchers combined to throw seven shutout innings to lift the Rams to a KVAC A win in Augusta.

Arika Brochu (1-0) started and earned the victory. She was relieved by Emily Soule and Sonja Morse. The trio combined to allow just two hits for the Rams (3-0).

Alyssah Dennett had three hits, including a double for Cony.

Erskine 8, Brunswick 1: Hannah Peabody had three singles and Hattie Welch had two doubles as the Eagles cruised to the KVAC A win in South China.

Alyssa Gartley added two singles for Erskine (4-0).

Oak Hill 6, Waterville 4: Kortni Michaud had a double, a triple and drove in three runs as the Raiders beat the Panthers in a KVAC B game in Wales.

Michaud also earned the win, striking out six for Oak Hill (2-2).

Ally Forkey had an RBI double in the first inning for Waterville (1-2).

Madison 6, Winthrop 4: Emily McKenney pitched a complete game to help Madison hold off Winthrop in an MVC game.

Kayla Belanger and Kayla Booker each had triples to lead the Bulldogs (3-0).

Cat Ouellette and Krissy Douty each had two hits to lead Winthrop (0-1), which scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to make things interesting.

Spruce Mountain 7, Hall-Dale 5, 11 innings: Cassidy Couture hit a two-run double in the top of the 11th to lift Spruce Mountain in Farmingdale.

Emily Keene hit a solo home run for Spruce Mountain (2-0).

Paula Despres pitched a complete game and also doubled for the victors as well.

Olivia Maynard had a double for Hall-Dale (0-2), which committed nine errors.

Monmouth 15, Carrabec 2: Reen Kahl had two doubles, drove in two runs and earn victory on the mound as the host Mustangs cruised in an MVC game shortened to five innings.

Kylie Kemp added a single and a double for Monmouth. Kahl allowed one hit, struck out nine and walked three.
